📈 Mortgage Rates Rise Modestly This Week
Mortgage rates moved higher across nearly every loan type this week, with the 30-year fixed seeing the largest increase. It climbed to 6.75%, up 0.11%, while the 15-year fixed rose slightly to 6.21%. These changes reflect continued market volatility as investors react to economic data and inflation expectations. Jumbo loans also ticked up to 6.87%, and government-backed options followed suit, with FHA increasing to 6.25% and VA to 6.26%. The 7/6 SOFR ARM remained relatively stable, edging up just 0.01% to 6.24%.
While rates have moved higher this week, they continue to fluctuate within a range we've seen throughout much of the year. Buyers who are prepared and working with the right team can still find great opportunities, especially as inventory remains stronger than it was this time last year.
