š Mortgage Rates See Some Relief This Week
Mortgage rates showed a mixed but slightly improved picture this week, with several key loan options moving lower. The 30-year fixed rate fell 0.05% to 7.56%, while the 15-year fixedĀ dipped to 7.22%. The 30-year jumboĀ held steady at 7.70%.
Ā
Government-backed loans also saw some improvement, with the FHA rate dropping 0.04% to 7.20%Ā and the VA rate falling 0.03% to 7.22%. The exception was the 7/6 SOFR ARM, which increased slightly to 6.89%. While rates remain elevated, this week's declines offer a little relief for buyers watching affordability closely.

Ā
Thinking about moving to the Charlotte area? Today I'm touring The Winslow at Edgewater ā a two-story new construction home in Lancaster, SC that gives you 3,550 to 4,513 square feet, up to 5 bedrooms, and a downstairs flex space that can be a study OR a bedroom.Ā
Ā
Edgewater was named 2024 Community of the Year, and once you see the amenities, you'll understand why. Championship golf, a lake, a restaurant inside the community, pickleball, resort-style pools, and homes starting in the $300s ā all about an hour from Uptown Charlotte and 35 minutes from Rock Hill, with South Carolina's lower tax rate.Ā
Ā
ā ļø BEFORE YOU TOUR ANY NEW CONSTRUCTION ā WATCH THIS The builder's onsite sales agent works for the builder. Not you. If you register at a community without your own Realtor, you may lose the ability to have representation for that entire build. It costs you nothing extra to bring me ā builders account for agent compensation whether you show up with one or not.
